South Caspian sedimentary basin research projects

The South Caspian sedimentary basin has characteristics that are fundamentally different from others within the scope of operations of the National Iranian Oil Company. On the other hand, the operational experience of the National Iranian Oil Company in this sedimentary basin is significantly less than others discovered in Iran. This issue has caused the Caspian Oil Company, by defining various research projects, to meet the maximum knowledge needs in this regard in its plan. Currently, the most important current research projects of the Caspian Oil Company are as follows:

• Identification of geological and tectonic hazards and possible hydrocarbon zones using geophysical methods and geological and reservoir data in the Caspian Sea - by Dana Kish Geophysics.

• Mechanism of volcanic formation and its effects on the formation of hydrocarbon reservoirs using remote sensing technology in the South Caspian Basin - Pars Arian Zamin Geological Research Center.
• Modeling of sedimentary basin and determination of delta performance range and reservoir rock expansion in the South Caspian Sea using available information - Tavana Kish Energy.
