Iran, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan Strike Gas Swap Deal
TEHRAN (Shana) – A three-way agreement on gas swaps from Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran was signed in the presence of the Presidents of the Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan on Sunday.
The tripartite document was signed in the presence of Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Ilham Aliyev, the presidents of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, respectively.
According to the agreement, which was signed by the Iranian and Azerbaijani oil ministers on Sunday evening (November 28) after the end of the bilateral meeting between the two presidents, 1.5 to 2 billion cubic meters of gas will be transported annually from Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan through the Islamic Republic of Iran.
